Coyote Canyon Planning Process Past Presentations

December 10, 2019 County of Santa Board of Supervisors

The County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors approved the Coyote Canyon Natural Resources Management Plan & Interim Access Plan and adopted the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Project. 

October 31, 2019 Housing, Land Use, Environment & Transportation Committee 

The Housing, Land Use, Environment, and Transportation (HLUET) Committee received a staff report from County Parks relating to the Coyote Canyon Natural Resources Management Plan & Interim Access Plan. The Committee endorsed the plan with additional motions and forwarded a favorable recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for approval.

March 6, 2019 Parks & Recreation Commission

The Commission received a staff report from County Parks relating to the Coyote Canyon Interim Access Plan. The Commission endorsed the plan and approved forwarding a favorable recommendation to the Housing, Land Use, Environment and Transportation (HLUET) Committee and the Board of Supervisors for approval. 

August 6, 2018 Public Meeting #2

County Parks shared with over 70 Santa Clara County residents the draft resource management recommendations and draft recommended public access option that responds to comments and concerns from the Public Meeting #1. County Parks also discussed next steps in the planning process and additional opportunities for public comment. 

June 4, 2018 Public Meeting #1

Thank you for your input! County Parks met with the community to introduce preliminary findings and potential public access options for the County-owned Coyote Canyon. Due to the high community interests, the meeting room was shifted to accommodate over 100 Santa Clara County residents. 

May 2, 2018 County of Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Commission (PRC)

On May 2, 2018, the Department provided an update to the PRC on the Coyote Canyon planning process. During the presentation, the public access options were further discussed, potential NRM zone recommendations, and next steps.

February 7, 2018 County of Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Commission (PRC)

On February 7, 2018, the Department introduced the Coyote Canyon planning process to the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Public. The presentation included a property overview, planning needed, resource concepts, access options, and next steps for the process.
