Student Internships
Are you a current student and thinking about interning with Santa Clara County Parks? Internships are a great way to obtain practical work experience and learn more about the County as an employer. Santa Clara County Parks accepts internship applications year round. If you are looking for an internship, follow the instructions below and reach out to us.
INTERNSHIP FAST FACTS
- SCC Parks internships are paid! Starting pay for high school students is $15/hour; college students is $20/hour; and graduate students is $30/hour.
- Internships can be in the field, in an administrative office, or both! All types of work support the mission and operation of SCC Parks.
- All internships will feature career building opportunities, including a Meeting with the Park Executives and Mock Interviews!
- All interns will complete a Capstone Project and present it at the end of the internship, enabling you to walk away from your time at Parks with a project planning experience and a professional presentation under your belt!
- Internships are designed to support certain stages of your academic career! Consult the table below for information on intern levels and their corresponding academic stages.

Level III | College Junior, Senior, or recent graduate with coursework in relevant area |
Level IV | Graduate School Student or recent graduate with coursework in relevant area |

Santa Clara County Parks offers a robust Summer Intern Cohort program. Keep a lookout for project descriptions and opportunities for our summer cohort which will be listed below in February.

To apply for the Student Internship Level I please click the Student Intern, Level I box and following these linked instructions: How to complete an official County Application.
All other levels, click on the corresponding box below. Once the job posting displays click the green button at the upper right corner that says "Apply"
Once you have completed and submitted your application email us directly at ParksHR.sccgov.org and attach a PDF copy of your application along with your name and contact information to let us know you are interested.
