Careers in Parks GIS

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program documents shared knowledge, information, and data related to the Department’s parks and regional trail system and makes that knowledge accessible through GIS and other tools for informed decision making, improved understanding of place, and more enjoyable park user experiences.

GIS supports the spatial information needs of Parks Divisions, County Departments, and external Agencies to coordinate the development, design and sharing of geographic information via reports, maps, databases, and web applications. GIS provides evaluation and analysis of the geography of the County and the parks to support Land Acquisition, Planning, and Trail Development.
