Trail Length: 3.9 miles (Out and Back)
Degree of difficulty: Moderate
Wood Road Trail Update: This trail will be closed Monday through Friday until the completion of the calcine remediation project (approximately October 31st). The trail will be open on the weekends. The project will continue with erosion control, irrigation and planting from November 1- December 31. Wood Road Trail will be open on weekdays starting November 1, however, there will be exception days for additional hauling of soil and debris. Notification shall be posted on those days.
Park Notes
- Former site of extensive cinnabar/mercury mining activity in 18th and 19thcenturies, with remnants of mining era remaining throughout park
- Extensive trail system through shaded oak, mixed woodland and grassland areas
- Nearby Casa Grande and New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum feature newly furnished period rooms and mining exhibit
